Is Dayton airport parking dropping to $8 in September 2026?
No. The $8 figure is a 2025 increase being republished as a 2026 decrease. Dayton International Airport’s Economy Lot went up to $8.00 a day on 1 September 2025, and up again to $9.00 a day on 1 May 2026. It is $9.00 a day today, plus a one-time $0.99 exit transaction fee — $9.99 out the door for a single day.
The published rate history, which is the whole answer:
- $6.00/day — until 9 November 2024
- $7.00/day — from 9 November 2024
- $8.00/day — from 1 September 2025
- $9.00/day — from 1 May 2026, current
Every one of those changes was an increase. DAY has never reduced a published parking rate. Any site still saying “drops to $8 on September 1” is quoting the 2025 change with the year stripped off — the date is right, the year and the direction are both wrong. - Economy, drive-up — the airport is cheaper. Its lot is $9.99 out the door against our $11.39 all in, about $1.40 a day. What that buys is a shuttle that comes to your car, your bags carried both ways, and no walk across the lot with luggage — which is why 2,714 Google reviewers rate us 4.9.
- Economy, reserved or long-term — we cost less. Reserving at the airport is $11.99 against our $11.39, and its long-term lot is $14/day against the same $11.39.
- Full-service valet — the airport doesn’t offer it. Ours is $14.81/day all in, reserved. Airport valet has been closed since 2020.
- Covered parking — the airport garage is cheaper. $23/day against our $25.08 Covered Valet & Shuttle. Ours includes an attendant who parks and retrieves the car; the garage is a structure you walk to and from. What happens if your flight is late? We bill partial days by the hour. The airport doesn’t. Park 24 hours and 21 minutes with us and you pay $13.67 all in — one day, plus one hour. The same stay in the airport’s economy lot is $18.99, because passing 24 hours starts a second full day. A delayed flight costs you a couple of dollars here. There, it costs another day.

Under half an hour, the airport’s short-term lot is free — we can’t beat free, and if you’re waiting on an arrival their Cell Phone Lot is free too. Past that free half hour it flips: the airport’s meter runs at $3.00 every half hour while we bill $2.00 an hour up to a $9.99 daily maximum, so from half an hour to about four hours we are cheaper than any lot at the airport — including its economy lot, whose flat $9.99 only overtakes us past roughly four and a half hours.
